March Professional Gallery Artist
Maggie Kemmerer
OPENING RECEPTION: MARCH 7, 2025 - 5 to 8PM
I began drawing and painting as a small child in my Grandmother Wright's art studio
in Beaufort, S.C. My favorite subject was horses! When I was nine years old I got my first horse and my art career took a "back seat" for the next 30 years!
I have very little formal education, but I confess to a natural talent which I've worked hard to develop for the past 35 years. My range is broad; my style leans towards Impressionism, however lately it has morphed a bit further - perhaps Expressionism would better define my current work.
I am deep into a big project! For the past ten years my husband, Jim, and I have been spending our summers sailing the Chesapeake Bay. In the evenings we find quiet water and tie up for the night. In the cool of the evening I get out my watercolors and "drift away". I recently had 70 small watercolor paintings framed. From them I am painting large oils. I've never painted from paintings... There are a couple of advantages: Any painting will eliminate countless details (otherwise, just take a photograph). Also, painting from paintings is a step further away from reality...I like the process and the result. Wonderfully, art pushes forward!

CollegeTown Gallery Artist
Sydney Reynolds
I'm from Gettysburg PA and am currently a sophomore at Lycoming College. I'm an Art Generalist Major as well as receiving my Education Certification.
My artwork is a reflection of how I see the world creatively. I love to mix technicality with creativity in order to express myself. My inspiration lately has been old photographs, specifically of my family, because this adds a nostalgic feel to the piece. I want viewers to look at my art, but also experience feeling when observing it. Parts of art that really intrigue me are the specific techniques learned along the way. I love that, as an artist, I am never finished learning; I fail, but I keep trying until I am happy with my result. And that’s the beauty of creating, I feel as if my heart and soul has been poured out onto my work and I couldn’t be happier with where I have progressed to.

A Visual Arts Cultural Trail For Our Area
We are honored to have received the Inaugural Century Fund Grant Award from First Community Foundation Partnership. We are working with Clinton County Arts Council to connect the arts up and down the Susquehanna River.
This is a huge undertaking. Our goal is to have an interactive map for visitors to access along with a website showing off our new regional arts partners and events to better serve visitors looking for things to do while in our community!
